Vistneshyttå- Open Cabin

The cabin is open year-round and is designed to be accessible to everyone. With its beautiful coastal views and the possibility of lighting a fire during winter, it makes for a wonderful destination throughout the year.

Overnight stays inside the cabin are not permitted. However, during the summer, visitors may hang hammocks in the nearby forest. It is a lovely outing for families.

In the area surrounding Vistneshyttå, several wartime remains from the Second World War can also be found.

Route Description to the Cabin

Option 1: Viste Strandhotell – Vistneshyttå

The walk begins on a gravel footpath by the hotel and continues westward towards Goavika marina. The trail crosses low hills, and along the way you pass several wartime bunkers. After the marina, the path continues past cabins and boathouses along the shoreline. Heading west, you pass boat landings, farmland, and small rocky outcrops, though the area is generally quite flat.

Approximately 400 metres before reaching the cabin, you cross a stile and enter the area surrounding Vistnestunet. Here, the landscape changes into coastal heathland and cultivated grazing land. The final section of the trail to the cabin crosses heath and smooth coastal rock before reaching the cabin from the seaside.

Option 2: Vistnestunet – Vistneshyttå

This route follows a gravel path and is suitable for prams and wheelchairs. The walk starts at the parking area by Vistnestunet, where visitors may choose to walk through or around the farmstead itself.

The route then follows a gently ascending gravel road past a toilet and a sheltered picnic area (gapahuk), where it is possible to light a campfire. From there, the trail continues through the forest — an area also well suited for overnight hammock camping. At the end of the path lies Vistneshyttå, facing the open sea.
