Randabergfjellet
Although, at 70 metres above sea level, it may not be Norway’s highest mountain, Randabergfjellet offers magnificent 360-degree views.
Stretching westward towards Børaunen and the North Sea, and eastward towards the beautiful Ryfylke fjords. It is a perfect hiking destination not far from Stavanger, and a great place for a picnic in one of the several sheltered picnic areas (gapahuker) found around the mountain.
The trail around the mountain is fully gravelled, making it easily accessible for everyone. There are cattle grids on both sides of the mountain, and during the grazing season you may see sheep roaming the area.
Randabergfjellet is also an excellent place for hammock camping. Rubbish bins are placed around the mountain, making it easy for visitors to clean up after their stay.
Parking / Transport
There is good parking available along Tungenesveien at the foot of the mountain, near Sandestranda, as well as at the top of the mountain itself. It takes approximately 10 minutes to cycle from the centre of Randaberg to Randabergfjellet.
